Hello everyone! This is Andalee, and I am planning a Hafla for Sat March 29th. It will be at the River Ridge in Sprigville (river-ridge.net)... a really beautiful facility up in the hills above Porterville. It will start at 3pm, and then we will have performances by students and beyond, potluck, (hopefully) a drum circle and party after that... it will be a lot of fun. There are even cabins we can use to change and all that. We will be asking for a $3 donation to help us pay for renting the venue, and anyone is more than welcome to bring food to share at the potluck. If anyone wants to perform, just EMAIL ANDALEE at ANDALEE@ANDALEE.COM so I can add tyou to the list (also a great time for STUDENT perfomers). I would like to keep solo the routines short, especially for the beginners (3min), and around 5min for the advanced/professional. This will be a great time to mingle with other Valley dancers and perform (or just watch) in a family friendy venue (children are more than welcome!).
Hope to see you there!
Andalee

Hello everyone,

Some of you may know that I am in the Dental Hygiene program at city college, which is why I have stepped off to the belly dance planet.
I am at a place in my education where I need to start having patients. If anyone is interested in being my patient for a dental cleaning please contact me at 593-1232. I would really appreciate it. Or if you know of anyone a family member who does not have dental insurance this would be a great opportunity to get there mouth in proper health. More and more studies have shown that the health of the oral cavity is in direct relation to the health of the body. So if your new years resolution is to be more healthy, this would be a great opportunity to help get you on track.

Thank you so much,
Brigiett

Hello!

My name is Roz and I am a belly dance performer and teacher in San Francisco and I am coming to work in the central valley for a week! I am working in Tulare 9am-5pm, Monday, February 11th-Wednesday, February 13th and staying in Fresno near here: 1240 North Crystal Avenue, fresno, ca.. I am interested in either hosting a workshop for a night or two at a dance studio and/or taking classes with fellow dancers (after 6:30pm, the drive from Tulare is about 45 minutes). I would like to keep my workout and training going while away from home! :) I will not have a vehicle (I am coming to work with a friend who is driving), so if there are any fellow dancers willing to come by and carpool with me to classes in the evenings, please, please let me know.

My number is 415-407-8006. Email is Roz@Rozwood.com . I may or may not have internet access, so phone is best!

Hope to dance with you next week!
Roz

Friday! Tempest! Bellydancing pirates! Come!
Don't forget, kids...

Friday, May 25, is going to be a fun night. Come out to the Full Circle Brewery (620 F. Street, Fresno) for some piratical fun.

Pirate's Booty Buccaneer Bellydance will start off the night with a debut performance of swashbuckling swishy-ness and scalawag shimmies. It's bellydance with a twist, darlin'. That's right, a vulgar display of piratical terpsichore.

Oh... and we do have Beeeeeyooooteefull Hats. You have to see these hats. Mine especially.

Full Circle will, of course, be serving their fabulous brews of many kinds; ale, porter, mead... try them all! (But do be certain to have a designated driver...)

There will be a Cap'n Jack Look-Alike Contest, and Prizes for Best Pirate & Wench Costumes... visit the Fortune Teller if you dare, get decorated by a Henna Artist...

But we're all going to be there to hear Tempest, Celtic Rock at its very finest!

Admission $14, or $12 with pirate costume.

Join us for the fun.

Or else.

We have swords.

I'm just sayin'.

Outing the Belly Wars in Fresno

The following post is a rant. I'm tired. Tired of the endless inability for people to try to play nice in the sandbox. There's plenty of sand here for everyone. Stop pooping in it and then trying to cover it up. You know others are going to find it. So just STOP it!

It has gone on for so long, the behind-the-scenes machinations.

I have heard too many first hand accounts of the nastiness directed at others, the talking behind backs while the unknowing target puts heart and soul into their performance, the sniping and cruel criticisms, the venom and tittering laughter while someone does their best on stage.

I have seen the results of these passive-aggressive tactics.

And now I'm pissed. This nonsense needs to stop. Grown women should not behave, act, or REact as it seems people are doing.

For one thing, if you have a problem with someone, or the way they have costumed, or the photos they took to promote an upcoming event, or their performance... it is inappropriate to discuss such things with others in a derogatory and scathing manner. It makes you look like an ass. It makes you appear to be nothing better than jealous, and nothing less than petty.

Dancers, performers, instructors, who are confident in their abilities and in the esteem of their students and audiences... do NOT need to disparage the efforts of other dancers.

Someone who has nothing to fear, and who deserves the respect of everyone in a local dance community, should NOT be spreading innuendo, rumor, and outright lies about a person they have not had the courage to approach regarding that person's intentions or troupe affiliation.

No. Let me be blunt. That may be best. Let's just really lay the cards out on the table here. I'll show my hand. Do you have the courage to show yours? Hm?

Do not go to my instructor, the person I consider to be my main dance mentor, someone very dear to my heart, and fill her ear with poison about me or my intentions. How can someone who has spent almost no time with me, has no clue about my character or integrity, and who has made NO attempt to address their concerns TO me... have any idea what I'm thinking, or what I'm doing?

I am angered that a person would DARE to use someone I respect so much in this way. I am aghast that they would presume to pay lip service to the idea of "hurting her", when it is their own intrigue, whisperings and conjecture that does the hurting.

Do you want to know what troupe I identify with, of which I am a part? Ask ME.
Do you want to know if I intend to leave that troupe? Ask ME.
Do you want to know why I'm participating in an event? Ask ME.

I have always been up front about my intentions. I dance with whom and where I please. That has always been clear. When I have committed to a troupe event, I won't let anything get in the way of that. That does not stop me from pursuing other interests at other times.

My instructor has always been supportive of my efforts to learn and grow. She has always been supportive of my efforts to dance at various events, in various venues, with various people.

I have always been clear in my affiliation with her troupe whenever I DO those events, so people will know who taught me. It gives credit where credit is due. It makes it clear that, while I'm doing an outside event, I am also part of something else, and maybe people will want to see what that's all about as well.

So, yes, I use the troupe name when promoting my dancing, because people should know that members of our troupe are versatile.

There is no disrespect for my instructor in dancing with other people. In fact, it shows the respect she has for ME, or any of her other students, that she encourages us to pursue our dance interests outside what we do with the troupe.

I am disheartened that there are those who seek to undermine the relationship between my teacher and her students by coming to her with twisted tales of what I'm doing, and why I'm doing it.

These same people who have, by first hand accounts, spoken so very poorly of her, and said things I find reprehensible.

So let's just clear the air. I have absolutely nothing to hide, and I certainly have no shame in what I'm about to say.

My name is Joy. I am a dancer with the Ananka Dance Company in Fresno, California, and I have been so affiliated since 1998. My teacher, and main instructor, is Ely Buffin. She has a wealth of knowledge of which I know I haven't even scratched the surface. She is also a wonderful human being that I am pleased to have made a part of my life, and I would never intentionally, or knowingly, disrespect her. I have much to learn from her, and as long as she is willing to share her knowledge with me, I will keep learning.

I also dance with other people. There are several former students of Ely's that I consider good friends. If and when I am invited to dance with them, I will do so as I please, as my time and schedule allow, with a happy heart that I can share my time with people who share my dance roots.

I will dance with people who are not affiliated directly with Ely. I have in the past, and intend in the future, to learn from many different instructors, take workshops in things that interest me, and continually pursue different styles of dance.

I count Lydia, the director of Tanjora Tribal Bellydance, as a dear friend. We have discovered many things in common outside of our shared interest in dancing, and our friendship has grown, independent of it. I have danced with her at various times. She has referred jobs to me, and I have shared job referrals with her. I have no intention of avoiding association with her, or her troupe. I have met most of the people that dance with her, and I like everyone I have met thus far. If invited to dance with them as a guest, I would be delighted to do so.

People who treat me with respect and kindness will receive the same from me. I am saddened to know there are those for whom I once held great respect and esteem that have seen fit to make assumptions about me and my personal character that are incorrect and unflattering.

I will make no apologies for participating in an event billed as "pirate bellydance".

It's fun. It's funny. It's a lark. It's fantasy. It also happens to be a popular trend nationwide. It's performance art of a different kind. (And not much of a departure from what I've done with the troupe all these years.) What IF... pirate wenches bellydanced? What would that look like?

If you come to the show on May 25, you'll get our perspective on the idea.

I may be unwelcome at your events, but you are more than welcome to attend mine. What I do may not be what you do, but I don't fear what you do. I do not consider what you do as a reflection on MY artistic expression. And you should not consider what *I* do as a reflection on yours.

You can be certain I will show less skin while doing it than the persons who have made unkind remarks about my photos have shown in their own past performances.

And I always wear proper underwear.

Introduce yourself!

So let's start with this 'building community' deal.

Take a minute and introduce yourself.
Who are you?
Where are you?
Who do you dance with (or are you on your own as a dancer)?
What's your style (or styles, or lack thereof, or what styles do you find interesting)?
How'd you get started?
Anything else you'd like people to know or notice about you?
How about things that you DON'T want people to know? (Just kidding)

You don't have to live in California's Central Valley to participate. I know we have people on the other side of the country in this tribe now. We'd like to get to know you, too. And now's your chance to promote your dance business, classes, workshops, performances, etc... Just do it in a personal (and personable) manner. Or... just let people know who you are and make some friends and contacts.

Sound off. Who the heck are ya?

Everyone Please Read... rules for posting photos

Everyone is welcome to post photos of dance events in the valley, but I'd appreciate it if we could all do a few simple things when adding a photo to the tribe. Due to a recent email request about a photo, I'm instituting a few general rules:

First, it's best to post pictures of yourself or your own troupe only... unless you know you have the permission of the person in the photo to use their image. That's just courteous and respectful.

Also, post photos that are your own, and are not something you picked up from some other photographer... again... unless you have their permission to do so.

I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone that posting a photo that could potentially be embarrassing to someone should not be done. We've never had any problems with that, but I thought I'd mention it.

When you do post a photo, please label it with the following information:

The name of the dancer.
The name of the dance group, troupe, or dance company that dancer is affiliated with (if any)
If the photo was taken by someone other than yourself, please credit that person as well.
If you can, also include where the photo was taken, what the event was, the date or approximate date it was taken... though I know that won't always be relevant to all photos. Sometimes it's just nice to have a frame of reference for the picture.

In the future, if a picture is posted without the dancer's name (whatever name she goes by as a dancer) and affiliation... as soon as I notice (or it is called to my attention)I will send an email to the poster to please provide the requested information. If that information is not posted within a reasonable time frame, the photo will be removed.

Recently a photo was posted and I added information that was given to me, by someone other than the person that put up the photo, as a courtesy, but I don't have time to do it for every picture posted.

I'm sure we all enjoy seeing fun, beautiful pictures of people and events in our dance community. And I don't want anyone to hesitate to post something... everyone's input is welcome here. Let's just make sure we're showing courtesy to the dancers and groups, as well as the photographers, who put so much time and effort into their art by identifying them properly so everyone knows who they are. We should give credit where credit is due.

Thanks everyone!

Hi, everyone....

I have my DVDs now listed and posted on my website page.

sausanacademy.com/suq.htm

I'm working dilidently to make more happen. This effort is for educational purposes only. So many dancers don't know nor have ever seen these dancers dance. I hope you will take a look at the DVD page.

This goes back to an earlier thread, I know, BUT, I'm desperately seeking lessons/outlets for tribal or tribal fusion style bellydance in the Stockton/San Joaquin county area - the 209. I would love, LOVE to study with UNMATA in Sac, but my work schedule will be changing again, making it very difficult for me to travel up there to take lessons, as I am coming from Modesto those days. My other choice is to study with Fat Chance on the weekends, or just get their DVDs and hope for the best. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Again, I part with a pair of Melodias...

It's a painful, painful thing...

BUT, these M34 nude glitters really should get use, and I just don't see it happening in my closet.

I just moved, and I simply must purge things that are not in use. (Ok, that, and I need money because I'm a poor, single woman now.)

SO... I'm only posting this in Central Valley tribes (Ananka, Tanjora, TU... those are the only ones I know of, are there more?) because I'd like to see them go to a semi-local home and find love and wearing-ness. I've stored them folded inside-out in a ziploc bag, so they shouldn't have lost much of their glitter. Dang, I love the way they look... I just can't keep them. It's weighing on my conscience, having them folded up in a dark little drawer. They deserve a sashaying, shimmying hiney and a spotlight.

SO... $110 gets you some saucy, sassy, SPARKLY Melos.

Shoot me a message if you're interested.

There's a workshop in Visalia this weekend...

DaVid of Scandinavia in Fresno in July...

The Caba-Ribal coming up in November in Bakersfield...

Anyone else have anything coming up? The Central Valley is large, ya know... South to North, there are a lot of people, and I assume a lot of dancers...

So shouldn't there be more happening?

If you know of something, post it here. You can put it in a thread... this thread... start another... whatever. Or you can make it an event listing for this tribe.

Either way, let's promote the dancin'. It's nice to know who's out there doing things, where we can go seem them, or take a class, or a workshop, or whatever.

That's the WHOLE reason for this tribe. Feel free to post your upcoming new classes starting, your events, your shows, your fundraisers... or a commentary about something you've done or seen or whatever.

Just... be nice. Be respectful of others. Remember that not everyone dances the same, or views dancing the same. Those are the only rules here. Promote, promote, promote!

Due to the rumors of the impending demise of Tribe (which may not be anytime soon, but... ya never know) ... I've set up a group on Myspace (even though I really really really really really DESPISE Myspace) just in case.

If anyone is interested, you can come check it out. http://groups.myspace.com/CentralValleyBellydance

And add me as a friend, too, if ya wanna. Because... you know... it's all about the connections.

http://www.myspace.com/joyunconfined

The interface isn't nearly as good on Myspace, but you CAN have discussion threads and post pictures to the group just as you can here.

Speaking of which... doesn't ANYbody have pictures of Central Valley dancing? People having haflas anywhere? Performances? Pictures of your own self?

I'm starting to feel a little like a dork for posting most of the pictures here.

I'd love to have a Saturday workshop in hoop dancing in lovely Fresno. I think that if we can get about 12 or so hoopers together that we can lure some one to put on a workshop for us.

I just have to say last Thursday's show at Club Fred was a good one!

Thanks should be given to Lydia of Tanjora Tribal Bellydance for putting this baby together, and of course many thanks should be extended to Solace for coming to town. We are so fortunate they did.

Thanks and kudos to all the performers... not least of which was the musicians who thrilled us.... and to the dancers: Tanjora, Aleph, Pat Krikorian, and to my Tek Ka Doom partner Lisa (Samara). (We lived! And I didn't screw up too badly!) And extra special thanks to Blue Damsel for appearing and entertaining us all.

I love Love LOVED the show. Everyone was beautiful. You couldn't ask for a better mix.

I'm telling you, it was a night of great performance and fantastic music. People dancing, music flowing... We were lucky to have it in Fresno.

In this workshop you will discuss and learn the fundamentals of Tribal Fusion Bellydance; proper posture and technique, specific moves and transitions, leading and following, group improvisation, dance expression, and costuming. Proper posture includes positioning of the pelvis, utilization of the transverse abdominis and solar plexus, lifting of the shoulders and chest and placement of arms and hands. Techniques we will review include posture as is related to execution of a moves such as hip drops, pelvic locks, taxim, mayas, amis, shimmy walk, standing shimmy, torso rotations, chest circles, arm movements. We will also learn new moves and the cues, which signify transitions between moves such as the Egyptian Basic, reach and sit, choo choo, Tunisian, Turkish shimmy, Arabic, Arabic hip twist, lightening turn and more. Once these aspects are established, we will then learn the fundamentals of leading and following, group improvisation and dance expression such as making cues visible but not obvious, thinking and dancing at the same time, and maintaining a “vibe” between dancers to create the ability to dance together without cues. All levels are welcome. www.ascendtribaldance.com

I'm parting with a pair of Melodias...

and you local kids can have the first chance at them.

See...I have 5 pairs, and I wear all of them EXCEPT this one pair. They're sad, in the closet all by themselves being unloved.

So, if you'd like to make friends with a pair of medium, 32 length black powermesh Melodias, let me know.

They've been worn once, maybe. I find that they're a bit on the short side for my taste, even though they're the same size as all the others. I think it has something to do with the material and how it stretches, or doesn't stretch.

$70 gets you some saucy pants.

Yeah. It's about shopping in a bellydance tribe...

But some of the shoes in the clearance RIGHT now at hottopic.com are those cute beaded or sequined slip-ons, flats, slippers, and thongs.

You know... just glittery and glam enough to wear with your costume and coverup, but also good enough for when you change into civilian clothes.

And they're pretty darn cheap!

http://www.hottopic.com Select 'clearance' and look for shoes.

So... *I* had fun at Caba-Ribal last week...

In spite of the fact that I arrived half-blind with a searing headache.

Thankfully, aspirin was found and brought to me by the lovely, kind, and generous Patrisha... and it had even taken effect by the time I had to dance with Lisa!

And that was fun, even if we had barely finished choreographing the whole thing two days earlier...

So, by the time Ananka danced I was feeling fully human, and we always have a GREAT time doing the show we did. It's just so fun, and whimsical, and peppy.

AND... I got to see Tanjora (you guys looked GREAT), and finally had a chance to see Tribal Underground (likewise)...

The only thing that bothered, and surprised, me... was the audience was so QUIET! Now... I know it wasn't because they didn't like what they were seeing... They were even quiet for the best, most accomplished dancers to take the stage! Even the workshop teachers weren't getting much noise...

I saw some really great dancing, and some of it was being done to the silence of a tomb. That attests to the skill and proffesionalism of those who danced, though. They were still poised, and wonderful, and their energy never dropped.

I did NOT get to take workshops. Probably a good thing. With that headache I might have dropped dead.

Did anyone else get to? Comments? Reviews? Learn anything you could share with the rest of us? Any cool little tips or tidbits?

Anybody see anything on stage that they liked? Anything you hadn't seen before? (And keep it positive, lovelies, or I'll get grumpy.)

Did you shop? Who bought what?

What is going on with the organizers? The Workshop ph contact VM is full and not taking calls.

No one is returning my e-mail requests

Where are the Workshop schedule/ Registration forms?
Is it pay at the door only?
Is there a schedule? is it already booked up?

If someone out there gets pissy w/ me so be it, if this spurs someone into action when the event is 3 WEEKS AWAY.
It rather sucks to amp up a local event to non-bellydancers(its sooooooo RARE we have anything local!) and have no info to share.

Ya know a little info on Tribe.net goes a long way if someone would just post the info and then tell us where!

Hurricane Katrina bellydance fundraising event

I'm posting this for a friend...so lets get together and dance to raise some mula!
>
>90% of my family lives in New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta. So I have
>been particularly effected by Hurricane Katrina (I haven't heard from my
>brother and his family or my sister and her husband or my older brother, or
>my aunts, uncles nor cousins ). I have been thinking--can we have a
>bellydance fundraising movement (a Movement Movement?) ? I'm thinking
>everybody everywhere dance on a corner in your community with a donation
>basket this weekend for Hurricane Relief. We could Dance for Dollars?? All
>the money can go to the Red Cross.
>

If you know me, you know just how ridiculous those words would sound coming out of my mouth.

But I'm still doing it.

Fooooor those of you who have NOT yet introduced yourselves in this tribe... shame. SHAME, I say.

We now know Joy, Mahasti, Brigiett, Patrisha, Katrina, Lydia, Lisa (one of them), and muckieha.

If you haven't yet introduced yourself in this tribe, your name is about to be listed here. Who are you? Why are you here?

See the other list of questions you have the option of answering for our informational enlightenment here:

So... from whom do we need to hear? Hm?

Banana-Anna
Pris
Jericho St. Etienne (he's new and welcome to Fresno btw)
ScottG
Liz aka Sibylla
Dez
rachael
Nileen C
Yasmine (of the scary sword)
Roy
Lisa (GIRLFRIEND, I miss you!)

Now... it surely isn't required that you post or even make yourself known in this tribe. I won't kick you out.

You don't have to know anything about belly dance to say something. No kicking out for that, either.

Everyone is welcome. Everyone. As long as we all play nice.

I'm just inviting everyone to get to know one another. I'm big on a sense of community in this...uh... community.

Me. The antisocial introvert. Go figure.

So sound off (one two) please.

Tanjora Presents: Workshops with Kami Liddle of Reno, NV

Bhangra Fusion & Drum Solo Transitions

Saturday, June 18th
Cynthia Merrill School of Performing Arts - Studio D
4750 N. Blackstone Ave, Fresno, CA 93726

Workshop 1: Bhangra Fusion 12:00 - 1:30
Workshop 2: Drum Solo Transitions 2:00 - 3:30

Workshop 1: Bhangra Fusion 12:00 - 1:30
Bhangra is a vibrant folk dance that originates from the Punjab region
of North India and North Pakistan. Bhangra began as a celebration
dance of the harvest season and eventually became part of the Punjab
urban culture through wedding and New Year's celebrations. Bhangra has
gained increased popularity in the West and is a new energetic element
of mainstream dance music.
In this workshop we will learn some of the basic Bhangra movements and
put them together into short combos. We will add some sharp hip
movements and overlaying isolations to these combos to create a
Bhangra/Belly dance fusion. This dance is energetic and high impact,
so be prepared to sweat!

Workshop 2: Drum Solo Transitions 2:00 - 3:30
This class is designed to combine basic movements that can be used in a
drum song. We will focus on gilding transitions with isolations and
fast hip movements to create combos to that can be used in sequence for
a mini-choreography.

Advance registration accepted until June 10th.
Workshop 1 - $35 before June 21, $45 day of workshop
Workshop 2 - $35 before June 21, $45 day of workshop

I appreciate the call out, and warm welcome. I have started performing with Cory Zamora and her Gypsies, as well I am with GayMarie and the FireMystics. Both make up a great family that has helped with alot of sudden snares that showed up through out the move.
However we are loving Fresno, and are glad to be here. I look forward to seeing you all perform, as I love seeing all perspectives of the art.

Live music. Why is it scary?

Patrisha suggested a thread on this... so I'll start.

I've had the opportunity to dance to live music three times, and all three times it was my great fortune to to have Mirage playing.

Thank goodness. They have always been VERY kind to me, and it's always been a rewarding experience. Their music is just great; beautiful, flowing, well-done, and that all makes it so easy to dance to.

For me, it was scary (and still is) because of that 'fear of the unknown'. You're never sure what's going to happen next. Not always sure how fast or slow it will go...

But when I think about it, I'm really never all that sure what's going to happen when I dance to canned music, either. After all, I might catch my fringe on something, or my cymbals get caught in my hair (THAT happens ALL the time, and I look like a dork fighting to get my fingers disengaged from my long hair). The cd might skip... the speaker might decide to play only the back up vocals track and only faintly play the bass line... and completely leave out the melody track. (It's happened. Many of us were there when it happened. THAT was...interesting.) You never know when the power's going to go out completely.

That's the thing about dancing... it always has those unpredictable possibilities. I find it's easier to deal with them as a soloist than in a troupe setting. After all... when it's just me, all I have to worry about is pretending I know what I'm doing. At least I don't have to try to subtly communicate with several other people about behaving in a uniform manner.

So...yeah... we can build up dancing to live music as frightening in our minds, but it really isn't any worse than dancing to a cd. In some ways it's better. Musicians can see what's going on with the dancer and adjust to what she's doing, just as she can pay attention to THEM and adjust to what they're doing. (Something I need to work on. I'll get better, I promise.) It's organic, it flows, and it can be great fun.

Polite communication is probably a huge factor in dealing with musicians who will play for you. Still considering myself a 'green' dancer, it would NEVER occur to me to demand something. I rather have the attitude that they've been musicians for a long while, and have played for many dancers. They know what they're doing, and for me, it can be a learning experience. I can try to adjust, and chalk it up to growing as a dancer.

The big thing is stepping outside the comfort zone. Funny thing is...once you do... it's not such a big deal after all.

This is cross posted in a few Fresno tribes -- please excuse repeats but I am hoping for good info!

Can anyone recommend some good places to smoke hookah in the Fresno, Clovis, and Madera areas? Preferably a place with a good 'scene' in the evenings? Bellydance too, maybe?

I am also seeking the elusive perfect cup of Turkish, Armenian, or Egyptian styled coffee . . .

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Hands together,

A student night will be held May 14, 7:30 - 10:30 pm at Ghaleb's Kabob in Fresno. (On Blackstone just south of Bullard, right next to Office Depot)

I'm not sure how they'll be doing signups to dance... but we'll post what we know as soon as we know it. Might also have live music by Mirage there. We can hope.

And don't forget DaVid's workshops in Visalia that day, see the previous post about that for more info:

Beautiful beaded costumes available.

I talked with Bay'la (here in Fresno) last night, and she has two lovely sequin/bead style sets, 5 pieces each (bra, belt, headpiece, wristlets).

One is white with gold, the other a beautiful emerald green with gold. I saw an example of one of these costumes and they're very nice, not too heavy, but have a nice shape and pretty pattern. Definitely a quality item, ESPECIALLY for the price.

The sizes on these are Medium... she said they might fit a B, up to C cup.

If you're interested, let her know, or you can contact me and I'll get you her phone number.

She's selling them at an AMAZINGLY affordable price (I think she said in the $250 range, if I remember correctly) because she was able to GET them for an amazingly affordable price. She said she may also be getting more soon, and that she'll let me know when she does, so watch for more posts about costumes.

For all soloist/restaurant/party dancers, a question...or questions:

From reading through other tribes...and on other message boards, it appears to me that dancers in other places have a few advantages over what we have in this area.

They contract... that means they have a written agreement between them and the client, so both know what is expected, how much things will cost, what they will get paid if they are made to wait longer than the agreed time before performing, whether a costume change is expected, how many sets, the minimum/maximum duration of sets, etc...

They also, it seems, get paid up front, and won't go on until they've been paid. I noticed Jillina did this with herself and her troupe in the BDSS movie.

Does anyone in th
